On Saturday I spent the day on the farm with a wonderful family.
The older girls had invited me to come so that I could be worn out from doing
things. It was such a fun day. When I first arrived Amy took me to see her foal, flash,
that had just been born that morning. He was lovely and let me near enough to
it to pat him, he was so soft. Throughout the day I got to see and do many new
things.

Lacey and I went for a walk to see the calves. While we were down there her uncle came in to rope some calves and cows for treatments. |
|
I was amazed at the discipline of the horses. Even when the rider was off it stood exactly in the same place even when the cow on the ground was fighting. |
|
After lunch we caught the horses and I learnt how to put on the saddle and bridle and we went for a ride. This is Amy and Mandy on their horses ready to go. The horse I was riding was Chase. It was a great ride.

The youngest of the family Kenton rode Dolly the horse till it decided it wanted to do its own thing. |
|
We got back from the ride just as Riely was milking their milk cows so he taught me and I got to milk a cow for the first time. |
|
For dinner we had a picnic. The younger kids had been playing Indians for most of the day and were very excited when they found out they were going to cook our dinner on their fire. We had sausages, bread rolls, chips and salad. And yes that is some snow you can still see. |
|
To end the day there was a beautiful sunset on the drive home. |
It certainly was a wonderful day with a wonderful family.
Thanks for the updates. Really enjoying then. Praying for you often.
