2012 up and coming

This is the beginning of my blogging. I am excited about my plans for next year as everything falls into place... I am very excited about it even though there are still many unknowns. I will be going over to America for a friends' wedding. After that I will be going up to Canada to serve in a Christian Camp for a year. The camp is run by an organisation called SCA International. The camp I will be at is called SCA Blueberry and is in British Columbia. It is northeast and the closest town is Fort St John, 65km away. I do not know exactly what I will be doing but it will involve some admin, maintenance, kitchen, and programme oversight.

The Lord has been good and I have got both a Canadian open work Visa for one year and an American visitors visa which allows me multiply entries over ten years. It has been amazing how things have worked out, initially I was looking at staying in America till the end of summer camps but that was not possible. My return flight was already booked but due to the booking system not being able to book out as far as my original return I was able to have one free change even on a really cheap ticket. This has meant that I can now stay for a year and not have to get a new ticket.  I still need to book my flights from San Francisco to Fort St John, which will take me via Seattle and Vancouver.  It will be a long trip and I am told to expect it to be still winter up there!

It is going to be a very new experience living in a different culture, not too different though, being quite isolated and lots of amazing wild life I have not encountered before. It is Bear, Elk and moose territory. One of the camps winter ministries is involvement in Ice Hockey tournaments, so I am sure I will get to see some Ice hockey games and next year I will be having a white Christmas. My plan is to update this blog often with what I am learning and experiencing
